Solcan 2101 Landscape 4'X7' Flat-Plate Solar Thermal Collector

Engineered through the decades, the solcan™ 2101 flat-plate solar thermal collector is the evolutionary successor to our earlier models which utilize copper fins with integral copper tubes that run between copper manifolds or headers. The copper fins have a black selective coating with an absorptivity for solar radiation of 0.95, and an emissivity for infrared radiation of 0.05.
Our black selective surface is more reliable and withstands higher temperatures and humidity than other designs. The collector frame is brake-formed aluminum sheet insulated with isocyanurate foam board. The glazing is 3mm low-iron tempered glass (4mm is available) and adheres to the collector box with black silicone sealant.
The isocyanurate foam has a conductivity of 0.0181 W/m.k, and has a thickness of 25mm on the back and 16mm on the sides.

Thermal Performance: The collector was tested as part of an SRCC test at the National Solar Test Facility in Mississauga, Ontario. The first order equation for efficiency is:

The stagnation temperature is 191°C. We recommend a flow of 1.5L/min for the standard collector (nominal 4ft x 8ft).
