Solar Energy

“I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.”

Thomas Edison

What is solar energy?

Solar energy is just that – energy from the sun! A source that we often take for granted, our sun is an abundant resource that can be harnessed for valuable applications, providing renewable energy solutions for the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

The two main technologies associated with solar energy are:

  1. Solar Electricity (a.k.a. solar PV or photovoltaics)
  2. Solar Thermal

Solar electricity can reduce or eliminate your home’s reliance on non-renewable energy sources and, by extension, it can reduce or eliminate your monthly electrical bill! System monitoring means you can see exactly how much energy your panels are producing and see your investment paying itself off in real time. Read more about what Solar Electricity can do for you.

Solar Thermal technology is, you could say, our specialty! These systems are highly flexible and provide a range of energy solutions. Not only can these systems supply domestic hot water to your home or business, they can also be used in conjunction with a radiant floor heating or snowmelt system. See our Solar Thermal page for more information on these tried and true systems.

“When there is a huge solar energy spill, we call it a nice day.”

Solar Energy & the Environment

Solar energy makes sense for anyone concerned about the environment or looking to reduce their monthly expenses. There is no denying that pollution is created during the production and consumption of traditional energy sources. Every step taken in energy conservation takes us closer to eliminating our dependence on non-renewable resources that will eventually run out. Using renewable energy sources is a necessary step toward the modern society we need to become.
